Our Client’s Brief

A difficult site will allow creative ideas to flow. Here our client wished to access a glazed extension designed on two levels.

The concept stages were critical in exploring how to design a workable scheme, whilst considering the existing room layouts.

The resulting structure provides a lower ground, light filled space off the kitchen for entertaining, along with a glazed room above from which to enjoy views of the garden.

Twin roof lights allow natural light to flood into even the darkest recesses of the lower ground rooms.

There is so much more to this spacious lower room with folding doors which open onto and provide access to a sunken courtyard garden.

Decorative metal floor grilles cover the underfloor trench heating system to the inside of the folding screen.

light-filled sumptuous dining room and serving area off the kitchen.
Windows and gutters to the rear of the property are colour-matched to the orangery, creating a striking and contemporary feel.
